Thanksgiving Recipe: Soup or Side Dish—or Both!

Perfect for Thanksgiving!

Portion: 4-6 people

Ingredients:

  • Butternut Squash – medium dice (4-5 cups)
  • Celery – medium dice (2-3 cups)
  • Sweet Onion – medium dice (2-3 cups)
  • Carrot – medium dice (2-3 cups)
  • Apple – medium dice (2-3 apples)
  • Dried Cranberries (1/2 – 1 cup)
  • Canola Oil
  • Kosher Salt
  • White Ground Pepper
  • Five-Spice Powder
  • Ground Rosemary
  • Dry Tarragon
  • Dry Parsley
  • Roasted Chicken Base
  • Water

Seasoning: These all depend on how moist and flavorful you want your dish. Start with a little, then add in more to taste!

Methods: Start thinking of how many dishes you can prepare with these ingredients during the week of Thanksgiving by applying basic preparations that can be re-heated in the microwave, stove top or oven. Overwhelmed? Don’t be discouraged, these methods and techniques are freestyle cooking.
