No-Shave November Is Back and Has Never Been Scruffier

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 6, 2022 at 12:00 PM

[ROCKVILLE, MD, OCTOBER 6, 2022] — No-Shave November rallies 13 cancer-related nonprofit organizations, including the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR), to get hairy for its largest and most ambitious campaign yet.

Cancer is a potent and ever-changing threat. Fighting it requires a united effort. Since its establishment in 2009, No-Shave November has been a rallying cry for other like-minded nonprofits to gather to. This year, the National Foundation for Cancer Research is excited to participate in No-Shave November and show we care by growing our hair!

No-Shave November and the National Foundation for Cancer Research aim to educate more individuals about cancer prevention and provide more support to patients, survivors, and families affected by this disease than ever before.

“We’re hoping our name helps bring more awareness to these incredible organizations,” said Monica Hill, Matthew Hill Foundation, Inc. President.

“No-Shave November has become synonymous with fundraising for cancer, and we are extremely proud of that. If we can get our donors to see these nonprofits doing groundbreaking work from prevention to survivor support to researching for a cure…we think that will make a lasting impact.”

“We are thrilled to once again align with other like-minded organizations raising crucial funds and awareness about the continued threat cancer poses to the health and well-being of the global population,” shares Brian Wachtel, Executive Director, National Foundation for Cancer Research.

“It is a core value of NFCR that  we can accelerate discoveries that improve cancer prevention, detection, and treatment through collaboration. This campaign brings in more support and advocates who can help save cancer patients’ lives.

In 2021, NFCR’s No Shave November Team raised more than $60,000 for critical cancer research programs and research for a cure.

So this November, the National Foundation for Cancer Research asks you to gather your co-workers, friends, and families and pledge to ditch their razors and cancel those waxing appointments. The more hair you share is evidence of how much you care! Register today at www.no-shave.org, and join a cause bigger than any individual.

About No-Shave November

No-Shave November is a fundraising campaign operated by the Matthew Hill Foundation, Inc., a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. No-Shave November was reinvented by the Chicago-based Hill Family: grow with a purpose and raise money for charity. This initiative was inspired by the Hills’ late father, Matthew, who passed away from colon cancer in November 2007. From a few Facebook followers willing to donate their hard-earned money to thousands of donors championing against cancer, No-Shave November has become a global celebration. No-Shave November is now operated by the Matthew Hill Foundation, Inc. (est. 2015), but holds the same goals. No-Shave November promises to keep raising money for cancer prevention, education, and research and to let that hair grow in the process. No-Shave November believes that together, anything is possible, and we’ll get closer to eradicating cancer one whisker at a time!
