In the video, Ryan admits that her Aunt’s battle with cancer has been a large motivator for her.

“Her courage that she had in her battle is something I think about everyday,” shares Ryan. “It was certainly something that motivated me as a college student athlete. I knew that no matter how hard the demands, they would never be as hard as what her battle was.”

“A lot of people on our team have been impacted by someone who has had breast cancer, or lost someone” adds Senior Forward, Elise Towers. “It’s great to come together for a cause that’s bigger than ourselves, bigger than field hockey.”

Play4TheCure started as a Field Hockey Tournament hosted by Coach Tina Reinprecht in Philadelphia, PA and has grown into a national athletic movement. Play4TheCure inspires young athletes and their teams to leverage their passion for sports to “Play4” loved ones affected by cancer and encourages them to actively participate in working to fund cancer research.
