ROCKVILLE, MD, & EMERYVILLE, CA – The National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) is proud to have been chosen by No-Shave November as one of ten cancer-related non-profit organizations for which its 2021 annual campaign benefits. Since its inception in 2009, No-Shave November, now a program of the Matthew Hill Foundation, Inc., has gone from a beloved tradition to a notable fundraising campaign benefiting cancer research. This is the first time that NFCR and the Matthew Hill Foundation have partnered in No-Shave November.

Cancer is a terrible disease that afflicts our population in various ways, and fighting back requires an immense effort. As one of the 2021 benefiting foundations, NFCR hopes to reach new audiences through its collaboration with No-Shave November as to the tremendous importance of scientific and medical research, along with public education, in battling cancer.

NFCR and No-Shave November, along with its nine other 2021 partners, seek to educate a more individuals about cancer prevention and provide additional support to patients, survivors and families affected by this disease.

“Through our 48 years support to scientists and research-oncologists, as well as through our education services and communications to all Americans, NFCR exists to combat cancer,” says Brian Wachtel, executive director of the National Foundation for Cancer Research.

“We believe that partnerships with other credible, like-minded organizations are a win-win-win situation: for NFCR, our collaborators and, most important, cancer patients.”

“We’re hoping our name helps bring more awareness to these incredible organizations,” says Monica Hill, president and co-founder of the Matthew Hill Foundation.

“If No-Shave November can get our donors to see these non-profits doing groundbreaking work from prevention to survivor support to researching for a cure…we think that will make a lasting impact.”

This November, NFCR encourages you to rally your co-workers, friends and family to put down their razors and forgo those waxing appointments. Every whisker grown benefits a cause more significant than any one person!

About No-Shave November

No-Shave November is a fundraising campaign operated by the Matthew Hill Foundation, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which was established in 2015. No-Shave November was reinvented by the Chicago-based Hill Family, and the initiative was inspired by the Hills’ late father, Matthew, who passed away from colon cancer in November 2007. It promises to keep raising money for cancer prevention, education and research, and to let that hair grow in the process. No-Shave November believes that, together, anything is possible, and we’ll get closer to eradicating cancer one whisker at a time! For more information, visit https://no-shave.org/.
