The National Foundation for Cancer Research offers various fundraising initiatives for the supporters of cancer research to get involved in the fight against cancer. Below are some highlighted programs.

The 9th Annual Memorial Golf Classic and Cocktail Dinner Party will take place on Monday, September 24th, 2012 at the Kenwood Golf & Country Club in Bethesda, MD. This friendly and fun event includes a BBQ lunch, dinner, open bar, live and silent auctions, and more! Each year, more than 150 guests will attend this event and hundreds of thousands of dollars will be contributed toward life-saving cance research at NFCR. Softball teams are stepping up in large numbers to "Beat Cancer with a Bat!" This program helps softball teams of all kinds to fight back against cancer. Teams are designating one ore more games - or sometimes the entire season - to rally their fans and educate the public about the importance of cancer research. Soccer teams from around the country are joining "NFCR's Kick Cancer Team" by designating one - or more! - games during their season to cancer research. Teams can raise funds in many different ways, from ticket sales to t-shirts, and help to educate their fans about the importance of cancer research. The Lucy Fund for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research
One year after her diagnosis with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, Lucy Stanovick, a college professor and mother of two, decided to gather her friends, family and community together for a party to celebrate her life and to raise money for breast cancer research. The event turned into a movement: The Lucy Fund for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research. The Lucy Fund is now expanding to host events across the country, raising money for the NFCR Center for Metastasis Research.

The Hope Fund for Sarcoma Research
Created by Marianne and Ken Bouldin, the Hope Fund for Sarcoma Research is raising funds and leading the fight against sarcomas.

The Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Research Fund
Dennis Ferguson was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer in January 2010 and has been participating in a clinical trial at the University of Chicago, the only treatment option currently available to him. In July 2010, Dennis contacted NFCR and later set up the Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Research Fund to raise seed funding for cancer research, with the hope to initiate the first clinical trial on anaplastic thyroid cancer.
