Why Donate Your Timeshare?
Thousands of timeshare owners find that they no longer need their timeshare(s). They know that they are wasting money paying annual fees and assessments for something that they no longer want or use. But, trying to sell it individually can be frustrating and difficult.
When individuals try to sell their timeshare(s) through an agent, they generally must pay up-front listing fees of $400-$900 and still can't find a buyer. In most cases, there is no incentive for the listing agent to sell the timeshare because they receive income from these listing fees, not from actually selling the timeshare. And, often, the seller may be told that the fair market value is higher than it truly is.
How Does It Work?
Simply fill out the online submission form with some basic information about your timeshare. Or if you prefer to apply using a paper application, or have any other questions regarding our Timeshare Donation program, please call Liz Diamond, Sarah Dietz, or Elana Lippa at 1-800-321-2873. You can also e-mail them at timeshare@nfcr.org.
Once NFCR receives the information, we'll send a consent form for you to sign which allows the closing company (Resort Closing) to speak to the timeshare management company to confirm property details. We also ask that you send a copy of the deed if available. If you don't have it, we can get a copy, but it will add about 2 weeks to the process.
Within approximately 10 days, Donate for a Cause (DFAC) may call to ask some further questions. Once DFAC confirms that they can accept the timeshare on our behalf, and a buyer has been found, a revised deed will be prepared and sent to you to sign. Generally, 50-60% of all timeshare gifts can be accepted.
After the gift is complete, DFAC wll send you a receipt for income tax purposes, along with additional information on how to process your charitable tax deduction.
The proceeds of the sale help NFCR prevent and treat cancer.

Timeshare Gifts and NFCR
The National Foundation for Cancer Research has teamed up with an organization called Donate For A Cause (DFAC) to accept timeshare gifts. NFCR will then use the proceeds to find cures for cancer.
Now, you can make an easy, hassle-free gift of an unneeded timeshare, get a tax deduction and know that you are helping a vital cause.
